Despega

Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Last updated August 27, 2026

1. What Despega is

Despega is a tool to see your cards, organize your payments and understand your credit. It connects to your banks through Plaid, a third-party provider, to read your accounts and transactions.

Despega is not a bank, does not lend money, does not move money between your accounts and does not provide financial, legal or tax advice. The information it shows is for guidance only.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your password and PIN secret, and for everything done with your account.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Security. Your data is then removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Connecting your banks

When you connect a bank you authorize Plaid to access your banking data on your behalf and share it with Despega. Plaid's use of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

You can disconnect a bank at any time from the app. When you do, the accounts, cards, transactions and automatic payments for that bank are deleted from Despega, and the access granted to Plaid is revoked. This cannot be undone; if you connect the bank again, its data is downloaded anew.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the app for unlawful activities, attempt to access other people's accounts, interfere with the service or extract data in an automated way.

5. Your payments are your responsibility

Despega helps you organize your payments: it shows due dates, amounts and reminders, and calculates payoff plans. But you make the payment, at your bank. Despega does not pay your cards, does not move money and cannot guarantee that a payment is made.

You are responsible for paying your cards and debts on time and for the correct amount. Despega is not liable for late fees, interest, charges, lost promotional terms or any effect on your credit history or score resulting from a payment that was not made, was made late or was made for a different amount than owed, whatever the cause.

Reminders are an aid, not a guarantee. They may not arrive, or arrive late, if notifications are disabled, the device is off or offline, or for reasons outside Despega's control. Dates and amounts come from your bank through Plaid and may be estimates when the bank does not share them; the app indicates when that is the case. Always confirm the date and amount with your bank before paying.

6. Limitation of liability

The information you see in Despega is for guidance only. It is not financial, legal or tax advice, and it does not replace what your bank or a professional tells you.

Your account data comes from your bank through Plaid. It may arrive incomplete, delayed or with errors, and some amounts are estimates when the bank does not share them. Despega is not liable for those errors nor for the decisions you make based on them.

The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of faults.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Despega and VMMV Partners LLC are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, late fees, interest, or harm to your credit history or score.

Also to the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the greater of these two amounts: what you have paid for the service in the previous twelve months, or one hundred US dollars.

Some states and countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited. If that is your case, those exclusions do not apply to you and you keep the rights the law gives you.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app and ask you to accept them again before continuing to use it.
